The Institution of Safety Engineers (India) was incorporated by Act of Govt. of India under section – II of 1882. The Institution of Safety Engineers (India) is the autonomous body registered with government of India. The Institution of Safety Engineers (India) is a non for profit organization for the profession of Safety Engineering in India consisting of members specialized in the areas of Work Study, Production Planning & Control, Materials Management, Safety Engineering, Operations Research, Health Sciences, Environmental Management, Quality Control etc. and other emerging disciplines. It has been espousing and contributing to Productivity, Quality movement and Cost Competitiveness and other emerging needs of Undertakings in the country during the last five decades. The Safety Engineering discipline has been adopted and developed in our country by the Professional Institution, The Institution of Safety Engineers (India). The Institution of Safety Engineers (India) is one of the oldest professional institutions in India established to promote, advance and update knowledge, business & practice of Safety Engineering professionals. The Institution of Safety Engineers (India) introducing various Training courses for serving Safety Engineering Professionals and also fresh candidates for Safety Course for induction in Safety Engineering Services, Due to fast Industrialization and rapid increase in Safety hazards the national government organization could not cope up with increasing demands to impart professional training to safety professionals at various levels.

The other major activities conducted by the institution are to provide consultancy on Fire Safety related issues, to conduct Fire Safety Audits of all types of occupancies, including those of Industries, Hotels, Hospitals, Malls, Commercial Complex, High Rise structure, Power Generation Plants and up till now we have provided consultancy to Central Govt. undertakings, State Govt. undertaking & large Private Industrial Establishments.
